Traditional wedding dresses will always be beautiful as we saw at the Royal wedding and the recent wedding of Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra. But wedding dress trends are leaning further away from the traditional in 2019, experimenting with colour, print and texture. From feathers to crystals to showing more skin, 2019 is the year of the unconventional and creative.
Here is our list of wedding dress trends for 2019:
- Beach Bride
Beach weddings are always in trend, but the dress options are changing. A goddess gown isn’t the only option anymore. Designers are playing with bikini cuts and sheer overlays and veils. Crystal accents are also trending, mimicking the sparkling water at the venue. - Asymmetrical
High-low skirts and asymmetrical sleeves are a given, but designers are also playing with asymmetrical volume as well. An asymmetrical gown adds drama and designers are ramping up the drama by using ruffles and tulle to add volume to the hemlines. - Crop Tops
Show a little skin! Two piece wedding gowns are trending and crop tops are the top choice. After all, you’ve worked hard on that wedding body, so why not show it off. - Feathers
Fun, flirty and light, feathers are trending on the runway this year. Whether it’s a fully feathered coat or beautiful feathered sleeve details, feathers will add a certain whimsey to your wedding that a traditional wedding dress won’t. Try adding feathers as accents in your hair as well. - Blue
Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. Champagne and pink are taking the back seat to blue this year and we love it.
