So, you’ve been asked to be the maid of honor and after you’ve graciously accepted you think… now what?! Well don’t worry. We have compiled a checklist that will help any maid of honour be the best she can be.
Here’s our Maid of Honour duties checklist:
Pre-Wedding:
- Lend a helping hand and ear to the bride whenever she needs
- Attend wedding dress shopping/fittings
- Help with the planning process if asked (search for vendors, address envelopes, anything!!)
- Plan the bachelorette party!
- Host/Co-host the bridal shower
- Attend all pre-wedding events (engagement party and rehearsals)Wedding:
- Be well versed in the wedding timeline and details
- Get prepped and dressed with the bride and other bridesmaids
- Have all vendor contact info if needed
- Prepare a wedding emergency kit for the bride
- Keep the bride calm, cool and collected
- Hold the groom’s ring
- Fix the brides train and veil upon arrival
- Hold the bouquet during the exchange of the vows
- Sign the marriage license as a witnessReception
- Help bustle the dress and remove the veil before the first dance starts
- Give a toast to the newlyweds
- Make sure the bride eats and drinks
- Be sure the gifts are safely stored and packed up at the end of the night
